Rep. Dave Hickernell is encouraging residents to obtain free copies of the 2009 Pennsylvania Fair Guide, which is now available from his district offices.
Published by the state Department of Agriculture, the guide lists the dates, locations and contact persons for more than 100 agriculture fairs and events scheduled this summer and fall in Pennsylvania.
It is estimated that several million visitors will attend Pennsylvania fairs this year.
Whether an individual is a fan of harness racing, carnival games or animal exhibits, this booklet can be a useful tool to find entertainment close to home. Fifteen of this year’s fairs will feature harness races.
The annual Pennsylvania State Farm Show, the largest indoor agricultural exhibition in the country, will be held in Harrisburg and is currently scheduled for Jan. 9-16, 2010.
Hickernell also reminded residents that he will operate an informational booth at the 2009 Elizabethtown Fair, during the week of August 24 at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds, located off the 900 block of East High Street.
