Hickernell to Host Senior Expo
9/25/2008
Rep. Dave Hickernell invites local senior citizens and their families or caregivers to attend his sixth annual Senior Expo from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Masonic Village Freemasons Cultural Center, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown.

“This free, informative event is an opportunity for older residents to learn more about the programs and services available to them,” Hickernell said. “Professionals from health care organizations, representatives of various state agencies, and other exhibitors will be on hand and available to discuss topics especially important to senior citizens, such as health care and consumer protection, among others.”

This year, Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett will present his Senior Crime Prevention University program at approximately 10:30 a.m. This program provides valuable information on the latest scams used by con artists, tips to avoid becoming a victim, and important consumer protection information.

There is no need to pre-register and there is no admission fee. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day and refreshments will be provided.

For more information on the Senior Expo, call either of Hickernell’s district offices, located in Elizabethtown, phone 367-5525, and in Columbia, phone 684-5525.
